What is the Young Changemakers award?

WE is joining PRovoke Media to launch a first of its kind people award – one that will celebrate the next generation of comms stars. Awards will be given annually – one per region, APAC/MEA,UK/Europe, North America– in alignment with the PRovoke Summits.

This Award is intended to provide a career & professional development launching pad for marginalized groups who have traditionally been under-represented in the PR/ communications industry by providing mentorship, skills training, and access to more tools and resources.


Who can enter the awards?

The criteria for the awards varies on regions. For North America and UK/Europe, entrants must be:

  • Between the ages of 22 and 29
  • Identify as a woman and as Black, Indigenous or as persons of color.

For APAC/MEA, entrants must identify as a woman and are between the ages of 22 and 29.


Is there an entry fee?

No, there is no fee to enter.


What must I submit to enter?

Candidates will deliver:

  • Written submission
  • Video summary/pitch or work

What do I get if I win?

Winners in each region will receive:

  • A total of three 1:1s with WE’s leadership, including global CEO Melissa Waggener Zorkin. The other 1:1s will be determined by sector and geographic preference
  • $2K for continuing education until travel resumes
  • Travel & tickets to PRovoke Media’s Global Summit + SABRE Awards 2022
  • Inclusion in sizzle reel at Global SABREs 2022
  • 1:1 with PRovoke Media’s leadership team, a closed-door AMA for deep industry insight and information
  • Option to publish an OpEd in PRovoke Media or appear on the podcast

Great! When is the deadline?

At the moment, we have only opened the North America awards. Please check back for other regions. For North America only, the early deadline is Nov. 30. We will accept entries until Dec. 15 but we encourage you to submit by the 30th.

The winner will be recognized at PRovoke North America in Feb. 2022.
